DIY Photo Booths are a lot easier than you think to set up. If you want to have a Photo Booth at your wedding but don’t fancy paying out for one of the fancy booths, well you can of course have your own DIY version. It might not be as flashy or stylish but it will still be plenty of fun for your guests and maybe even more because they are up to their own devices and can relax and have extra fun with the camera.
What you will need
- Instax Camera (or any instant camera)
- Film
- Props
We had one at our wedding and I decided to do it that way because we were trying to stick to a tight budget and I already had the camera so just needed to buy some film and start stocking up on some fun props. Surprisingly enough we actually had most photos left on the night I though people might decided to take theirs home with them but we ended up with a box full of them and I think one of the best things about the day after was opening that box and flicking through those photos. It gives you an insight into how the night was going for everyone and by the looks of it getting better as the night went on.
Tip: Leave easy instructions on how to reload the film I did pass it and found film loaded in backwards so people thought it wasn’t working. I am sure some smart person who knows how to use it will always come to the rescue. If I was doing it again I would do something like this that I found on Pintrest.
I actually bought my Instax film from AliExpress. It is about half the price of it over here in shops and I have never had any issue with them. I also used them for buying props and a selfie stick that I left on the photo booth table. I would always leave 6-8 weeks for it to arrive so wouldn’t order last minute.
