Would you have the nerve to send something like this?
A wedding guest was recently shocked to receive a cheeky request by email after the wedding from the newlyweds (an ex-colleague) thanking them for attending and their gift but that they really should have given more.
One user on Mumsnet posted a question on the forum asking for advice regarding their strange and awkward situation. She explains that they had given the couple a cheque for £100 but then received an email basically saying that they should have given more money and they are willing to accept a “bigger contribution”.
We were surprised that your contribution didn’t seem to match the warmth of your good wishes on our big day. In view of your own position, if you wanted to send any adjustment it would be thankfully received.
Of course most people agreeing with them that it was inappropriate and that their gift was generous enough.
The outcome from the guest was as follows and a pretty decent response for the situation.
However I’ve just replied to her email with one sentence:
“I assume this was some sort of mistake?”
